Our One Night Out on our Own

As though we had not been out to eat in a long time, we decided one evening around 5:00ish, after a glass of wine, that we should go out on the town. Actually, truth be told, I did not feel like cooking. So we drove into Old Town St.Charles and had dinner at Breddons, on the patio. It was a lovely evening and we had a great time.

After dinner we took a walk down the main street and heard music. As we wondered further, we noticed a bandstand on the river. And that night there was a concert. So we grabbed a rock and sat down to listen. The Missouri River was right behind the grand stand. It felt like a movie set from the 40's.

Love and hugs to all of you. Thanks for being in our lives....

Visiting with Family and Friends

For the past 3 weeks we have been having a very busy time visiting with friends and family. Our calendar looks like it looked when we were working but now, we are involved in fun activities. We have eaten out at least 3 times a week meeting different people and groups.

It is wonderful to be able to have the time to see the people we love.

The Nurses plus Two. We met the nurses that Barbara worked with during her many years at University High School.

Sandy, Sherry, Barb

Carolyn (non-nurse, counselor, administrator), Mary, and Linda (non-nurse)

Our friend, Arlene, met us for lunch at Cafe Eau in the Chase Park Plaza. Elegant lunch and great afternoon catching up on our lives.

Linda's cousin, Marilyn and her husband, Don came into St. Louis to visit. Marilyn's sister, Janice, husband Mitch, and kids, Rachel, her husband Russel and Allison all live in St. Louis. Unfortunately, I do not have any pics of Janice's family. We did get together with them in early May and I did not take any pictures. And in the beginning of June, Jan was in a serious car accident, hit on her side by a driver who was watching (texting?) his phone. She is seriously hurt, currently in rehab, and we are praying that she will be fine.

Friends Donna and Carol. We met them for breakfast one day and then again for dinner a week later. They had not seen our motorhome so they drove to St. Charles to see us and eat at the restuarant at our rv park.

The Wexford Girls at top a high rise condo (13th floor) overlooking St. Louis skyline. Judie, Barb, Jean, Maggie and me. We were all neighbors at the condo in the Central West End in St. Louis.

Barb's cousins, the Dorr's....Jean, Barb, Dave, Kim, and her daughter, Annalise. We ate at McGurks, a sports bar that used to be in the Soulard area of downtown. According to Dave, the dad still runs the one in Soulard and the son runs the one in the St. Charles area.

So that is a summary in photos of some of the goings-on in our lives.
We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful people in our lives.

Bailey's visit to Lulu

Lulu lives outside of Bonne Terre, Mo about 1.5 hours from we are staying in St. Charles. We like to visit Lulu's parents, Linda and Nancy. And Bailey expects that Lulu will be happy to see him.

Lulu is either a Yorkie or a Silky, but Bailey doesn't care. They just love to chase each other and play. After the first few minutes, they just ignore each other

Lulu's two moms...........Linda and Nancy
It is always so good to see them and spend a couple of days visiting. They have a lovely home on a small lake and have decorated it beautifully. They love to redecorate frequently and so each time we see them , it is as though they have a new home. What is so amazing to us is that they do almost all of the work themselves. Sometimes it is just repainting but that is not just the walls; it will also include the furniture. Other times they reupholster the sofa or chairs. They have redone the entire kitchen, taken out walls, replaced flooring, just about anything. And when they are done, it feels like a new house.
Every trip there is an adventure. What fun we have talking, watching movies, watching Lulu and Bailey play and eating. Did a mention they are both exceptional cooks !
Here's hoping they will come to AZ to visit us this winter.

Family gathering with the Bredehoft's

We returned to St. Louis on Saturday, June 29, in time to start visiting with Barb's brothers and their families. The highlight of the weekend was playing dominoes and cards, and eating and drinking............

Elsie is moving to a different room in her facility and they all came to give her encouragement about the move. It turned out to be a great family gathering, playing Uno and dominos all day long. We taught everyone how to play Mexican Train.

Having everyone here for the few days before as well as on the day of the move made it very easy and a happy event for Elsie. Everything went very smoothly on moving day and Elsie has adjusted to her new room.
