May 28-30 Bredehoft Reunion

This weekend the Bredehofts (that's Barb's family) celebrated the arrival and baptism of a new baby. Barb's nephew, Joe, and his wife, Erica, brought Brigitta into the family. On Saturday we all gathered at Elsie's residence. Joe and Erica brought Brigitta for all of us to see and for her to meet all of us.

Great Grandma Elsie is so pleased to hold her first great grand daughter.
It was really heartwarming to see her eyes light up each time she viewed Brigitta.

More Rainy Days, 2 Days of Sun and a Day in the Waiting Room

The topic of this post more or less summarizes this week for us.  We spent the days running errands, doing small repairs and cleaning on the motorhome including cleaning the carpets and visiting Elsie.

We did have an appointment to get the last of the repairs on the motorhome before the extended service contract expires in August.  So we arrived at 8:30 am with a list of 13 items for them to work on and sat in the waiting room with our books, laptops, coffee, lunch. We were there until 5:30 pm.  Bailey was thrilled to have a whole day with us but was not too thrilled to be couped up in one room.  And of course it rained most of the day so we could not take him for walks.  Twelve of the thirteen items were finished.  The washer/dryer had to be removed. We left it there until the new motor arrives and it is completely repaired.

The forecast is for rain again all weekend, but.hopefully there will be just enough sunshine this weekend so we can go strolling in Old St. Charles.  IF so,  we may have some photos to post.

Safe travels,
Barb, Linda and Bailey

Another Rainy Day

We have been here in St. Louis for 3 weeks now.  We have seen the sun on 3 of those days.  We have had a tornado, thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, light rain and for the last two days continuous showers with possible thundershowers.   The temperature has dropped from 82 degrees to 52 degrees.  We are now wearing turtlenecks, sweatshirts and jeans.  The forecast is 4 more days of rain.

No outings, no siteseeing, no walks, no pretty drives, and nothing new to write about.

This is just an update to let you know where we are and what we are doing.

Photo of Rv park where we are staying in St. Louis.  As you can see we are right on the Missouri River which fortunately is not flooding.  We are on the back row that looks out on the trees.  The straight long white line between the rv park and the trees is the walking path that we take when the weather is nice.  We usually walk about 1 1/2 miles.
Love, hugs and safe travels whereever you go,

Barb and Linda

A day at the Botanical Gardens

Tuesday was a beautiful sunny day, the first in over a week and we were ready for an outing.  Spring in St. Louis is usually a time of flowers and beautiful plants.  And the MO Botanical Gardens is an exceptional place to go and one of our favorite outings.  Many of the spring blooms survived the rains and were gloriously colorful.

Family Weekend

Last Saturday was the Mother Daughter Tea at Breeze Park where Elsie, Barb's mom, lives.  This is an annual event usually held on the Saturday before Mother's Day.  It is a lovely affair with fancy cakes and candies plus tea or coffee.  The entertainment this year was a tenor and soprano who sang classic love songs from the 40's era as well as love songs from various Broadway shows.  So Barb and I dressed up (no long dresses and red hats), picked up Elsie at her place and off we went to the tea.  Elsie truely enjoyed the outing and in fact hummed or sang along with some of the tunes.

After the event was over, there was a drawing for the center piece for each table.  And Elsie won the drawing for our table.

And then on Sunday we went to visit Joey and Erica, Barb's nephew and niece, and their new baby Brigitta.  She is about a month old now and just adorable.  We had a very nice time seeing them and catching up with their lives.

Oh, and that is Buster in Joey's arms.  He is adjusting very nicely to having a new baby in the house.  After all, he was the only baby for over a year.

Love to all of you,
Barb and Linda
