Map of Campbell River, BC to Newport , OR

Campbell River, BC to Victoria, BC

Port Angeles, WA to Newport, OR

We left Campbell River, BC on Sept 8, drove to Victoria, BC to spend the night on the dock of the BC Ferry Line. Our hope was to park the rv's and then take one last walking tour of Victoria. But , alas, that was not to be. It started raining around three that afternoon and continued until the next day. Fortunately for all of our stomachs, it was not raining on the ferry ride. So we spend the night on the ferry dock watching TV and the boats; we left on the ferry the next morning around 10:00 am. We had to unhitch the car from the rv, so I drove the car and Barb drove the rv. It was quite an experience watching Barbara drive the RV onto this huge ferry. She did a magnificient job...very impressive.

And so, we are finally back in the USA. The ferry docked in Port Angeles, WA. We drove to the campground in Discovery Bay and spent 3 nights there. There was a wood ship festival in Port Townsend one of the days we were there. Those wood boats with the tall masts were quite impressive. Many of the owners allowed us to go onto the boats to see the inside. The woodwork was magnificient. (pictures to follow).

When we left Discovery Bay, we headed to Seaside, OR. The drive was beautiful and crossing the Columbia River was awesome. The rain was a bit dreary and did limit our views. We are now in Seaside with a forecast of rain, rain, rain, and then more rain. It looks like we will have 4 days of rain so some of our plans will be altered. No fantastic drives to see the ocean (all fogged in). But there are outlet shopping malls here and the towns is a cute place to wander.

I will spend these days updating this blog and inserting pictures.

Hope all is well with you. Safe travels and hugs,

Barb and Linda
