Sept 3: Another drive to Depot Bay and more time with friends

Our friends Pearl, Cheryl, Co and Flo brought
Blanche, Lucy, and Luey to visit with Bailey.
We all drove to Depot Bay and everyone posed for the camera.

Entering narrow passage way.

As I mentioned in an earlier posting, Depoe Bay's claim to fame is that they have the worlds smallest harbor. Entering that harbor from the ocean takes the boats through a very narrow passage way with strong waves and rocks on both sides. As soon as the boats speed through the narrow opening, they have to veer to the right to make a sharp turn and at the same time slow down as they enter the calm waters of the harbor.

Through the narrow entrance

Beginning to make turn into the harbor

A closer view of the boats speeding through the rocks and the rough water.
As you can tell, I am fascinated with watching them manuever through this small entrance.

The Sea Hags at Depot Bay are a favorite of all of our friends.
Friday evening we gathered together to celebrated Cheryl's birthday.

The ocean was very active today,
producing high waves and lots of motion in the waters.
