Sept 19-21 Coos Bay, Cape Arago, Charleston

We arrived at Coos Bay/North Bend area with plans to stay at the the Mill Casino campground.  We had a spot overlooking the bay area.

Each morning the fog would roll in

and Barb would be outside getting these photos.

We spent the 3 days here touring the area.

Our first day we drove to Cape Arago State Park to see the lighthouse and discovered that there was more there than the lighthouse.  The drive around the Cape allowed us to view more fantastic waves and wave action plus an area where the seals congregrate and play.  In that same area is the Sunset Bay State park with more views.  And then we checked out the Port of Charleston area.  We are certainly getting our "ocean fix" on this trip.

I think we saw all of these except the Grey Whales.

We were amazed at the number of seals and sea lions playing in the water as well as resting on the rocks.
The waves were awesome.  I think as fall approaches, the wave action increases.

We decided to go for a hike along the coast and had a different view of the shore line.  And flowers.

Barb and Bailey really enjoyed the hike

Another view of the bluffs and the lighthouse.

A closer view of the lighthouse.  We did not see anyway to get to the lighthouse.

Linda hiked down a path to get a photo of the seals on these rocks.
We were able to see more of the seals from this different viewpoint.

As we left Cape Arago, we entered the Port of Charleston area.  Charleston is a small fishing village with many commercial fishing boats.  We purchased fresh lingcod that supposedly just came off the boat.

Wishing you happiness and much love,
Barb, Bailey and Linda
