August 14: Chemainus

Sculpture of miners who founded the town.

Chemainus is known as the Town of Murals.

There are probably no words to describe the paintings on the walls in Chemainus. I had a very difficult time selecting which photos to include.

What you will see as you browse these photos is that they are life-like. Many of the people just seem like they are coming right off the walls.
To get an overview of the town, we took a carriage ride that included the history of the town.
The Railroad comes to town

You will notice that these paintings depict the history of Chemainus, including its industry  and the people who lived and worked here......
